Roberta “Bertie” Bergeson, 74, of Okoboji passed away on Friday, April 18, 2025, at her home in Okoboji.
A visitation will be held from 4-6 p.m. on Thursday, April 24, 2025, at the Robinson Funeral Home in Spirit Lake. Burial will be held at a later date in the Lakeview Gardens Cemetery in Okoboji. Bertie was born on July 15, 1950, to Robert Gordon and Virgil Jean (Robinson) Knox in Estherville, IA. She graduated from Estherville High School in 1968. Bertie worked as a Data Processor in the banking industry as a VP of Operations and Clerk Services at 1st Bank & Trust in Palatine, IL. She was united in marriage to Larry Bergeson on December 26, 1992, in Estherville, IA.
In her free time, she enjoyed bicycling, swimming, reading, cooking, sewing and she enjoyed doing artistic paintings.
She is survived by her husband Larry Bergeson of Okoboji; children, Gretchen (Ted) Looker; Lance Bergeson; and Ginger (Eric) Poppens; siblings, Barbara (Roger) Hughes; David (Heidi) Knox; Mary Pat Barr; and John Knox; sister-in-law Jan Bergeson Clymer; brother-in-law Gary (Leigh) Bergeson; and brother-in-law Harland (LaDonna) Bergeson; grandchildren Morgan, Jacob, Madison, Miya, Joe, Jackson, Joshua, Hunter, and Faith; and six great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Jim Knox and Richard Knox, sister-in-law Sue Clifford, brothers-in-laws Don Bergeson and Robert Bergeson.
