A memorial service for Milly Feger, 77, of Estherville, will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, Jan. 7, 2023, at the Henry-Olson Funeral Chapel in Estherville with Father Paul Kelly officiating. Interment will be at St. Patrick’s Catholic Cemetery, Estherville, at a later date. Milly passed away on Friday, Dec. 30, 2022, with her family at her side in Estherville.

Visitation will be held at Henry Olson Funeral Chapel in Estherville on Friday, Jan. 6 from 5-7 p.m.

Mildred “Milly” Lucille Feger, the daughter of Wilbur and Ann (Matheson) Brosh was born Nov. 7, 1945, in Sheldon, Iowa. Milly never did have a birth certificate though, as her doctor was in an accident after her birth and passed away before writing one.  

Milly attended Estherville Public Schools. On November 29, 1963, she was united in marriage to L. Ronald Feger at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Estherville. Milly was a dedicated farmwife and homemaker while their children were growing up. In the 80’s she began working at Fairmont Foods and later Style Craft. Cleaning houses kept her busy in her later years.

Milly was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church. She enjoyed deer hunting, gardening, and sewing. Milly was quite active in helping with the family livestock. When her children were younger she was a 4-H leader, and later enjoyed watching her grandchildren and great-grandchildren in their livestock shows and sporting events.

Milly is survived by her husband of 59 years L. Ronald of Estherville; daughter Lori (Bruce) Chrestiansen of Estherville, their children: Emily Chrestiansen of Estherville and Sarah (Matt) Hertz and their daughters Reagan and Adeline of Laurens, IA; daughter Brenda (Paul) Galm of Everly, IA; their children: Cassie (Tyler) Tischer of Brandon, MN, Abby (Nathan) McLaury and their sons Lane and Colton of Royal, IA, and Nathan Galm of Everly, IA; daughter Ronda Newgard and her children: Cody (Courtney) Newgard and their daughters Conley and Camryn of Estherville, and Lauren (Noah Diekmann) Newgard of Sherburn, MN; son Terry Feger of Estherville; and daughter Jill (Kevin) Sundall of Spirit Lake and their sons: Ryan (Cayla) Sundall and their children Sydney and Lucas of Spencer, IA, Brandon (Britany) Sundall and their daughter Haylee of Estherville. She is also survived by her siblings Ivan (Mariene) Brosh of Estherville, Thelma Tiessen of McGregor, MN, Marilyn Baas of Minneapolis, MN, Ardell Ehlers of Fairmont, MN, Sally (Donald) Appel of Aitken, MN, and sisters-in-law Pat Sundall of Estherville, and Ella Brosh of Milford. She will be remembered fondly by many nieces and nephews.

Preceding Milly in death are her parents, her father and mother-in-law Walter and Lois Feger, brothers Vernon, Clayton, Dennis, and Clinton; and sisters Thora and Edith.
