On Nov. 12, 1961, June was united in marriage to Clarence Bierstedt. They made their home in Estherville until 2019, when they moved to Park View Assisted Living in Sac City, IA to be closer to their daughter, Lori.

June enjoyed camping, fishing, and snowmobiling, along with her large vegetable garden and in later years, her wildflower garden. She enjoyed yard work, and even blowing snow.

June attended every possible athletic and music event of her grandsons, Jason and Anthony, and also went to many of her great nieces and great nephews’ events. June loved getting together with family and friends, often playing cards or dice, or enjoying the player piano she refinished.

June is survived by her husband of 62 years, Clarence of Sac City, IA; daughter, Lori (Kevin Higgins) Mooney of Sac City, IA; daughter-in-law, Teri Bierstedt of Brookings, SD; grandsons, Jason (Laura) Mooney of Bondurant, IA and Anthony Bierstedt of St. Paul, MN; great-grandchildren, Henry and Evelyn Mooney; sisters-in-law, Shirley Johnson of Fairmont, MN, Lorae Johnson of Spirit Lake, IA and Janean Bierstedt of Fenton, IA; and many nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
