Funeral services for Joyce E. King, 90, of Estherville, will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, Jan. 24, 2025, at Estherville Lutheran Church in Estherville with Pastor Tim Johnson officiating. Interment will be at East Side Cemetery, Estherville. She died on Jan. 19, 2025, in Estherville.
Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m., today, Thursday, Jan. 23, at the Henry-Olson Funeral Chapel in Estherville.
Joyce Elaine King, daughter of Bernard and Esther (Iverson) Isakson, was born on June 24, 1934, in Estherville, Iowa.
She was baptized at Immanuel Lutheran Church south of Gruver and confirmed at Estherville Lutheran Church. Joyce attended country school and then graduated from Estherville High School.
On May 25, 1951, Joyce was united in marriage to Dale King. They were blessed with four children: Dan, Tim, Brenda and Mark.
Joyce was a member of Estherville Lutheran Church and ELCW. She served on various boards at church and was a circle leader for many years. She enjoyed gardening, knitting, crocheting and teasing the grandchildren.
She is survived by her children; Brenda (Gordon) Juhl and Mark (Lori) King, all of Estherville; daughter-in-law, Aletha King of Cylinder.; 10 grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren; sister-in-law, Mona King; friend, Arvin Juhl; and many nieces and nephews.
She was greeted in heaven by her husband, Dale; sons, Dan and Tim (Julie), parents, Bernard and Esther (Iverson) Isakson, brother, Leon (Marilyn), sisters-in-law, Phyllis (Tom) Frazer and Betty (Don) Kafer, and brothers-in-law, Wayne King and Gary (Judy) King.
She lived for her family and is now with her Lord.
