Jerome Paul Brinkman

Jerome Paul Brinkman passed away on September 12, 2020 at the Berthoud Living Center in Berthoud, Colorado at the age of 83 years. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday, October 9th at 11 a.m. at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Estherville, IA followed by graveside services at St. Patrick’s Catholic Cemetery. A lunch immediately following services will be held at the VFW Hall in Estherville.

Jerome was born on January 6th, 1937, in Estherville, Iowa, he was the son of Joseph and Mary (Benesh) Brinkman, and grew up on a farm south of Estherville. Jerome attended and graduated from Estherville High School in 1954. On June 22nd, 1957, he was united in marriage to Therese Tindall from Graettinger. Together they farmed south of Estherville for 25 years. In 1985, the couple moved to the Loveland, Colorado area, where they built a thriving antiques business. Jerome particularly enjoyed Western memorabilia and antique firearms. They liked to travel to antique shows together and enjoyed spending time with their children and grandchildren.

Jerome is survived by his children Mark (Luann) Brinkman of Omaha, Nebraska; Julie (Paul) Calvin of Baxter, Iowa; Monica (Mark) Dymerski of Arvada, Colorado; Amy (Paul) Sherling of Palmer, Alaska; and Paul (Janet) Brinkman of Brush, Colorado; nine grandchildren, and 2 great grandchildren.

Jerome is preceded in death by his parents Joe and Mary; his wife of 43 years, Therese; his son Shawn Brinkman, and his friend, Julie Toppenburg.
