Estherville Rodeo basks in sun

Several days of sunny skies minimized the mud at the Estherville High School & Junior High Rodeo held at the Emmet County Fairgrounds Arena this weekend. No Emmet County competitors were listed this year. Entrants traveled from around Iowa and Nebraska, as well as a short distance from Ruthven, Wittemore, Luverne, and Dickens.

The bronco competition Sunday started out with a fall as Cauy Masters of Leon, Iowa, was thrown. However, after EMTs checked out his leg, he walked on his own.

This year marked the 33rd rodeo as the 2020 event was cancelled due to COVID-19.
