David Milo Stevens

David Milo Stevens was born on December 28, 1953, to Milo and Roxie (McClelland) Stevens in Emmetsburg, Iowa. He graduated from Terril High School with the class of 1972. David then attended Southwest Vo-Tech Institute in Jackson, Minnesota, receiving his degree in Architectural Drafting. David worked various jobs in Sioux Falls, Iowa and southwest Minnesota, until he found his home in Worthington, Minnesota, where he worked in production at Commodore Homes for ten years.

David switched careers and started classes at Worthington Community College in Worthington, Minnesota. He married Corann Bootsma on March 7, 1987 in Sibley, Iowa. David graduated from Worthington Community College in 1989. He went on to attend Southwest State University in Marshall, Minnesota. In May of 1992, he graduated with two degrees: Bachelor of Science in Computer Information Systems and Bachelor of Science in Accounting. In 1993, the couple moved to Sioux Center, Iowa, where he worked at Vande Berg Scales. In 1996, the couple made their home in Denison, where David was employed with Professional Computer Systems.

David and Corann were blessed with a daughter, Stephanie Renae Stevens on August 24, 1997. David enjoyed projects that involved building and woodworking. He also enjoyed playing tennis. In his spare time, he could be found rebuilding computers. He also had a talent for drawing and writing. He found the Lord as a young adult, and his faith in God was very important to him. David was a member of Faith Family Church in Harlan.

Following a disabling stroke in 2014, he was forced to retire and his health continued to decline. David passed away, surrounded by his wife and daughter, at home on Thursday, June 8, 2023 in Denison, Iowa at the age of 69 years, five months and 11 days.

David was preceded in death by his father, Milo Stevens; infant sister, Nancy; niece, Nicole Jensen; and father-in-law, Harry Bootsma. He is survived by his wife of over 36 years, Corann Stevens of Denison; daughter, Stephanie Stevens of Nevada, Iowa; mother, Roxie Stevens of Estherville; brother, Jeff (Carolyn) Stevens of Wallingford; sister, Barbara Stevens of Algona; mother-in-law, Wilma Bootsma of Sheldon; siblings-in-law, Larry (Laura) Bootsma of Denver, Colorado, Darlene (Darrell) Teerink of Sibley; several nieces and nephews; and other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 15, 2023 at the Huebner Funeral Home in Denison, Iowa. His funeral service will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, June 16, 2023 also at the Huebner Funeral Home in Denison. Interment will follow in Crawford Heights Memory Gardens in Denison. Memorials may be directed to the family. Services are entrusted to Huebner Funeral Home in Denison, Iowa.
