Warriors struggle against No. 7 Bulldogs

LAKE MILLS — The North Union boys fell behind early to Class 1A No. 7 Lake Mills and couldn’t catch up in a 68-38 loss to their Top of Iowa West Conference rival on Tuesday, Dec. 21.
The Bulldogs raced out to 14-4 lead in the first quarter and led 32-19 at halftime. Lake Mills then outscored the Warriors 21-6 in the third quarter for a 53-25 lead entering the final period.
For North Union, Preston Guerdet led the team with eight points while Kyan Jones had seven points.
Bennett Berger led Lake Mills with 19 points and teammate Wyatt Helming had 18.
North Union (5-3 overall, 3-2 in the Top of Iowa West) returns to action Tuesday, Jan. 4, 2022, hosting Eagle Grove in Armstrong.
