Tami was born on November 14th, 1972, at Holy Family Hospital in Estherville, Iowa to Kenny and Donna Kaltved. She graduated from Estherville High School and attended South Dakota State University in Brookings, South Dakota and Buena Vista University in Storm Lake, Iowa where she received her bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education. She married the love of her life, Chad Huntley, at Estherville Lutheran Church on August 13th, 1994. Chad and Tami would have celebrated their 30th anniversary this year. They were blessed with the birth of their son Caden, after moving to Georgia.
Tami was the glue that held her close knit family together and spoiled Chad and Caden. Tami was an amazing mom, attending all Caden’s activities and supporting him in all his adventures. Tami was a true social bug. She made friends everywhere she went. Tami loved to travel and spend time with family and friends. She loved to shop, and nobody has more shoes than Tami. She also had a passion for rescuing dogs, without Chad’s knowledge, especially her Abby.
Tami was a passionate educator who loved her kindergarten class. She has been teacher of the month and nominated for teacher of the year. Tami was known for her loving approach. Children lined up for her hugs- both present and past students. She cared deeply for her students and went above and beyond for them and their families. Tami was blessed to teach with an amazing group of teachers and administrators over her many years in education.
She is preceded in death by her grandparents, Leland and Ruth Knudtson, Arthur and LaVonne Kaltved, and in-laws, Bud and Mary Jo Huntley.
