Funeral services for Sarah A. Hansen, 36, of Fort Dodge will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, Feb. 24, 2024 at the Henry-Olson Funeral Chapel in Estherville with Pastor Doug Burton officiating. Interment will be at Oak Hill Cemetery, Estherville. She died on Feb. 14, 2024, at Unity Pointe Hospital in Des Moines, Iowa, after a brief illness.
Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m., Friday, Feb. 23, 2024, at the funeral chapel in Estherville.
Sarah Ashley (Clarke) Hansen, the daughter of Michael Clarke and Mary Bryan was born on May 8, 1987, in Apple Valley, CA.
Sarah graduated from Martin County West High School in 2005 before attending a masters commission in New Mexico where she participated in many missions’ trips through her youth group and education. Sarah earned her Associate’s degree from Iowa Lakes Community College, her Bachelor’s degree from Buena Vista University and her Master’s Degree from Western Governors University. She worked as a teacher for Prairie Lakes AEA in Fort Dodge. Sarah loved everything about teaching, especially her students.
Sarah married Eric Hansen on August 8, 2008. This marriage later dissolved. The true loves of her life are her daughters, Genevieve and Amara.
In her free time, Sarah enjoyed attending concerts, playing frisbee golf and spending time with her family.
Sarah is survived by her daughters, Genevieve Hansen and Amara Treise; her significant other, Victor Pingel; her mother, Mary Bryan; her siblings, Michael (Kaitlin) Clarke, Jeremy (Alisha) Clarke, Crystal Clarke, and Melissa (Matt Larsen) Clarke; her nieces and nephews, Angel, Maci, Kaleb, Isabella, Olivia, Ian, Aliyah, Madilyn, and Parker; her step-father, David Buchmoyer; she is also survived by her aunts, uncles, her extended family and her students.
She is preceded in death by her nephew, Kyle, father, Michael Clarke, grandparents, Robert and Dolores Clarke and Diane Bryan, her uncle Bruce Bechtel, and her cousin, John Nagle.
