Perry D. Smith, age 69 of Madison Lake, passed away on Monday, November 30, 2020 at Mayo Clinic Health Systems-Mankato.
A Celebration of Perry’s Life will be held at a later date. Woodland Hills Funeral Home of Mankato is assisting the family with arrangements.
Perry Douglas was born on August 31, 1951 to Douglas and Geraldine (Nole) Smith in Estherville, Iowa. He graduated in 1970 from Ceylon High School in Ceylon, Minnesota. On October 22, 1971 he was united in marriage to Yvonne “Muffy” Sickler in Delavan, Minnesota. He worked for Gallankamp Shoes in Fairmont for 7 years, and then was employed for the next 7 years at Railway Motors also in Fairmont. Perry and “Muffy” then moved their family to the Madison Lake area, and he was then employed by Xcel Energy in Mankato for 23 years as a boiler operator until his retirement. He enjoyed hunting, and working outdoors, and having coffee with friends. Perry loved time spent with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Yvonne “Muffy” Smith of Madison Lake; 2 daughters and their husbands; 4 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; his mother; 2 sisters; other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father; 7 grandchildren.
