Visitation for Leonard Howard, 82, of Estherville, will be held from 3-5 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 27 at the Henry-Olson Funeral Chapel in Estherville. A private family funeral service will be held.
Leonard Howard, the son of Harold and Etta (Andresen) Howard, was born April 5, 1938. He passed away Wednesday, Dec. 16, 2020, at Pearl Valley Rehabilitation and Nursing in Estherville, Iowa, at the age of 82.
On March 26, 1959, he was united in marriage to Mardelle May Show in Superior, Iowa. The couple made their first home north of Gruver and in March 1969 moved to the new family farm east of Huntington. They retired in Estherville July of 2002.
He was a longtime member of Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church south of Gruver.
Left to cherish Leonard’s memory are his children, Kimberly Howard of Victoria, Minnesota, David (Kathy Jo) Howard of Estherville, Ronnie (Vickie) Howard of Johnston, Iowa, Kenny (Julie) Howard of River Hills, Wisconsin, Lyle (Katrina) Howard of Spencer, Iowa, Melinda (Adam) Miller of Woodridge, Illinois; 10 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister, Delores Kesler of Estherville; brothers-and-sisters-in-law, Maurice (Charlene) Show of Estherville, Marvin (Patt) Show of Fremont, Nebraska, and Marvella (Doug) Shatter of Renner, South Dakota.
Preceding Leonard in death were his wife, Mardelle, parents, Harold and Etta (Andresen) Howard, and a brother-in-law, Junior Kesler.
In lieu of flowers the family prefers memorials.
