Joyce “Sally” Alger, 83 passed away peacefully with family by her side Friday, September 16, 2022. She was born in Estherville, IA at the 4th homestead deeded in the Iowa territory. She was the daughter of Gladys and Arthur West and the stepdaughter of Floyd McDonough.
Sally married Gary Alger, on August 24, 1963, in Estherville, Iowa. They, along with their children moved to Mesa, AZ in April 1976. Sally worked for Mt Bell, later known as US West, for over 30 years. Sally was preceded in death by her mother Gladys McDonough, her father Arthur West, stepfather Floyd McDonough, son Jay Alger, brothers Wayne and Larry West,
She is survived by husband, Gary Alger; daughter, Amy (Freddie) Picanco; son, Cory (Tammy) Alger and her 3 grandchildren, Katherine, Dawn, and Jacob. She is also survived by her brother, Virg West; nieces and nephews in Arizona, Iowa and Rhode Island.
