Funeral services for Jean A. Peta, 78, of Estherville, will be held at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, Oct. 8, 2020, at the Henry-Olson Funeral Chapel in Estherville with Pastor Cole McCormick officiating. Interment will be at East Side Cemetery, Estherville. She passed away on Sunday, Oct. 4, 2020, at Good Samaritan Society in Estherville.
Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 7, 2020, at the funeral chapel.
Jean A. Peta, daughter of William and Margaret (Anderson) Loftis, was born on June 28, 1942, in Estherville, Iowa.
Jean attended Catholic school in Estherville.
She married Clifford Peta on July 14, 1962, at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Estherville. Following their marriage, the couple made their home in Estherville. Over the years, Jean worked at Berkley’s; Montgomery Ward; and did housekeeping at the Good Samaritan Society. For hobbies, she enjoyed camping, dancing, bowling, playing cards, but most important was spending time with family, especially her grandchildren.
Jean is survived by her husband, Clifford Peta; her children, Diane (Tim) Helget; Ron (Dawn) Peta, and Mark (Tracy) Peta; 10 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; and her sister, Edna Payne.
She is preceded in death by her parents, twin brother, James Loftis, stepmother, Caroline Loftis and her mother and father-in-law, John and Zelma Peta.
