A memorial service for James K. Torbick, 70, of Estherville, was held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, Dec. 3, 2022, at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, Spirit Lake.
James K. Torbick, the son of Nick and Lillian (Kelly) Torbick, was born on Dec. 18, 1951, in Ashland, Wisconsin. He died on Nov. 23, 2022, at his home in Estherville at the age of 70 years.
James graduated from Bayfield High school before attending college in Superior, WI.
He worked as a jack of all trades. He was a farmer for many years on his family farm. He was an engineer for Shuttlecraft. He was also self-employed doing many jobs from roofing to mechanic work and even carpentry, he could do it all.
When he wasn’t working, he could be found gardening, working on his Jeep or biking. He loved spending time with his grandchildren. He was one of Jehovah’s Witnesses and was loved by so many.
James is survived by his children: Autumn (Clayton) Sexton and Nick (Joda) Torbick; seven grandchildren, Emily, Zachary and Lillian Sexton, Corbin and Nixie Doll, Sophia Menicucci-Doll and Rowan Knight; and his sisters, Kathie (Lester) Osborn, Niki (John) McClure, and Marilyn Crouley.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Nick and Lillian (Kelly) Torbick, and his siblings, Peter Torbick, Mary (Joe) Beedlow, and Shannon Torbick.
