Craig Sylvan Lemke, son of Sylvan and Dolores (Lubenow) Lemke, was born on May 8, 1953 in Fairmont, Minnesota. He passed away from complications of Parkinson’s Disease on Tuesday, March 5, 2024 at Valley Vue Care Center in Armstrong at the age of 70 years.
Craig graduated from Armstrong High School in 1971. He started working at Armstrong Rim and Wheel shortly after high school where he continued to work for the next 40 years, retiring from GKN on August 7, 2015. Craig enjoyed coaching for the Armstrong Little League for many years. As a young man Craig enjoyed fishing with his dad and brothers. He also enjoyed golfing and was a member of bowling leagues in Armstrong. While a resident at Valley Vue Care Center he enjoyed participating in the trivia events, especially the sports ones.
Craig was a lifelong member of the Nazareth Lutheran Church in Armstrong. Craig was an avid North Union Sports Fan, attending all the sporting events that he could. The highlight of his life was being the favorite uncle to all of his nieces and nephews. He enjoyed spending time with them and taking trips, especially the Alaskan Cruise they recently went on.
Craig is survived by his siblings Vicki (Galen) Peta of Gruver, Mark (Betty) Lemke of Spirit Lake, Lee Lemke of Swea City and Scott (Jody) Lemke of Spirit Lake, and many nieces and nephews.
Craig is preceded in death by his parents Sylvan and Dolores Lemke.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m, Saturday, March 9, 2024, at Nazareth Lutheran Church in Armstrong, with burial to follow in Armstrong Grove Cemetery. Friends may call at the church from 12 p.m. until the time of the service at 2.
