Coleen Renee Blass, daughter of Ernest & Lillian (Kinnard) Hanson was born on January 5th, 1950 in Estherville, IA. She passed away on March 29th, 2023 at Avera Holy Family Hospital in Estherville at the age of 73.
Coleen was united in marriage to Christopher Norman Blass in 1968. The couple had three children, Melisa, Kristi and Jay.
Coleen enjoyed spending time with her family, friends grandchildren and her sisters. Her hobbies included crafting, quilting and traveling. She had several jobs throughout her professional career. Coleen’s last position was an Activity Leader for Good Samaritan which she thoroughly enjoyed creating special moments for residents.
Coleen is survived by the following family members: her husband Chris, her children Melisa Heisler, Kristi Blass Hudgins & (Seth Hudgins), Jay & (Wendy) Blass. Grandchildren included are Ty & Axel Heisler, Aaron McLean, Mya (Blass) Guerra & Anthony Guerra, Lily Woods, Jake & Beau Blass, Ethan & Brynna Hudgins. Coleen is survived by her sisters, Betty Platter, Janie & (Bubs) Johnson, Carolyn & (Hermie) Geerdes.
Coleen’s CELEBRATION OF LIFE will be held from 1:00-3:00pm at First Christian Church at 205 North 7th Street in Estherville, IA.
A 1:00pm service will be followed by coffee and fellowship afterwards. Casual attire welcomed and please feel free to wear your favorite color in Coleen’s honor.
Coleen is preceded in death by her parents, her brother John Hanson and her sisters Doris Alig and Janice Hall.
Coleen’s family would like to thank you for your love, support and prayers. She will forever dance in all of our hearts. Fly high, Mom.
