A memorial service for Carol M. Williams, 72, will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, April 20, 2024, at the Henry-Olson Funeral Home in Estherville with Pastor Kathy Kluis officiating. Visitation will be held from 1-2 p.m., prior to the service at the funeral home. She passed away on April 5, 2024.
Carol, a loving mother and grandmother, was born on April 30, 1951, to Jesse and Maxine (Holtzman) Hicks in Fayette County. She spent most of adult life in Independence, IA, with the last 12 years living in Estherville.
Carol began her career as a nurse, providing care and comfort to those in need. She married Robert Williams in 1976 and when they began a family, she used her nurturing spirit to raise three boys.
In her free time, Carol enjoyed gardening, reading, and solving puzzles, but her greatest joy came from spending time with her family and friends. Her gentle nature, kindness, and generosity touched the lives of all who knew her. She worshiped at the United Methodist Church, finding solace and community in her faith. Carol will be dearly missed by her family, friends and church family.
Carol is survived by her sons Greg (Gwen) Williams, Scott (Michelle) Williams, and Chris Williams; grandchildren Emily, James, Leah, Robbie, Keeley, Lincoln, Aaron, Raylan, and Fiora Williams, and great-grandson, Zayvion.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bob Williams.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Emmet County Animal Shelter or the Estherville Public Library.
Carol’s legacy of compassion and love will live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know her.
