Betty Rouse, 86, of Webster City died on Tuesday, Nov. 29, 2022, at Southfield Wellness Community. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 2, 2022, at Asbury United Methodist Church. Burial will follow at Graceland Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church.

Betty Jane Brandrup, daughter of Orville and Eleanor (Brock) Brandrup, was born May 28, 1936, in Webster City. She graduated from Ayrshire High School and Jenny Edmonds School of Nursing in Omaha. On August 10, 1958, Betty was united in marriage to Denny F. Rouse at the Ayrshire United Methodist Church. The couple resided in Pocahontas, Spencer, and moved to Webster City in 1967. Betty worked as a registered nurse for E.F. Brown in Webster City and a teacher for Asbury Preschool.

She is survived by her children, Curtis (Jodi) Rouse of Spirit Lake, Denise (Michael) Waldron of West Des Moines, Lori (Kevin) Kruse of West Des Moines, Garret (Carol) Rouse of Des Moines; grandchildren, Nathan (Brandy) Rouse of Red Oak, Jordan (Rachel) Rouse of Waterloo, Joel (Jennifer) Kruse of Overland Park, KS, Benjamin Kruse of Cabaro, NC, Lauren Rouse of Des Moines, Dylan Rouse of Des Moines; great-grandchildren, Jacob, Paisley, Maverick; brothers-in-law, Max (Coletta) Rouse of Curlew, David (Ruth) Rouse of Emmetsburg; sisters-in-law, Virginia (Carlos) Tate of Worthington, MN, Julie (Roger) Egland and Janet Finnegan all of Storm Lake and many nieces and nephews.

Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Denny in 2007; her parents, Orville and Eleanor; and sister, Joyce (Harold) Burger.

Betty wintered in Mesa, AZ and summered at her cabin at Lost Island Lake in Ruthven, IA for several years, she was an avid Bridge player, an ISU fan and especially enjoyed her time spent with her children and grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be left in Betty’s honor to Asbury United Methodist Church, American Heart Association or American Diabetes Association.
