Private family graveside service for Marlynn Marie Anderson, 92, of Spirit Lake, will be held at Harrison Township Cemetery, Swea City. Marlynn passed away on Sunday, Nov. 10, 2024 at Lakeside Lutheran Home.
Marlynn Marie (Lien) Anderson, was born on Aug. 4, 1932, in Swea City, the daughter of Carl and Ethel (Harris) Lien.
She received her education from Swea City Community School and graduated in 1950. Marlynn married Robert Dean Anderson in San Antonio, TX on Dec. 31, 1950.
Once her husband served his time in the Air Force, they moved back to Swea City to the family farm. The couple retired in 1980 and moved to Spirit Lake, where Marlynn worked for Dudley’s Bakery & The Company Store.
Marlynn was a past member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Swea City and Grace Lutheran Church in Spirit Lake.
She devoted her life to her family, her motto was “I’m just an old farm lady.”
Left to cherish her memory are her children, Paul (Linda) Anderson of Estherville, Ron (Shari) Anderson of Swea City, Jeff (Zoe) Anderson of Glendale, AZ and Andra (Matt) Fink of Savage, MN; her sister, Linda Welp of Boise, ID; grandchildren, David Anderson, Neal Anderson, Leslie Anderson, Maxwell Fink and Gabriel Fink; as well as many great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Marlynn was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Robert, son, Marlyn, sister, Delores Blien, brother, Larry Lien, grandson, Joshua Fink, and great-granddaughter, Rachael.
