Estherville Lincoln Central senior Taylor Myers will continue his running career at the next level after high school. On Monday, he signed with coach Anthony Drealan to run cross country and track at Dakota State University in Madison, S.D.

Myers is a four-time state qualifier in cross country finishing 10th in Class 2A as a junior. He also won the Lakes Conference title his sophomore and senior seasons.

Myers also qualified for state in the 3200-meter run as a junior.

Coach Drealan said he first became aware of Myers when informed by Dakota State admissions that the ELC student was looking at degrees offered by the university.

"After looking at his times, he was definitely an athlete I wanted to recruit," He's run some tough races and I look forward to his time at DSU."

Myers said he plans to study cyber operations. "They have a great program here and a smaller campus, which is like Estherville," he said.
