ELC Speech & Theatre earn outstanding marks

All-State nominations to be announced later today

The Iowa High School Speech Association held its state competition at four locations Saturday. The Estherville Lincoln Central High School Speech & Theatre department sent seven groups to state and came away with six "1" or Outstanding ratings.

"Taming of the Shrew" One-Act Play: Angie Palmer, Ethan Masters, Bryan Peterson, Justin Christensen, Winter Williams (ill on competition day), Brendan Finley (learned Winter's part in only a few hours), Taylor Myers, Cullen Bixby, Blake Bixby, Cole Danner, Braxton Shryock, Yahir Diaz, Ahries Nissen, Anthony Rivera, Ehren Masters, Ely Jones, Octavio Diaz, Lena McCoy, Cora Brant & Carly Grange

Receiving "II" Rating:

WDAY Radio Broadcast Group (Amy Huang & Braxton Shryock)

All-State Nominations are scheduled for release late Monday. An Outstanding Rating does not necessarily result in an All-State Nomination. In 2019, the One-Act Play "Tartuffe" was honored with an All-State Nomination as a non-performing act.
