Big news dreams in a small newsroom

I'm still looking for help with a few projects.

First, it's the whiteboard project.

As you can see in the photo of the resplendent Rowaida Lair, we're seeking your thoughts on our big questions. Rowaida answered the question last summer, "What brings you joy?"

The numbers of people showing support hasn't been there for the whiteboard project in the first few tries at this, but that doesn't mean I'm giving up. I feel your answers to some of life's big questions can be summed up in a few words on a whiteboard and your beautiful facial expression while holding it.

I will be around at the Flight Breakfast, the Emmet County Fair, Sweet Corn Days, and other places in the next weeks, and I hope you will help me by sharing your opinion on our big questions.

The latest one is going to be based on a movie coming out in limited release on August 20, 21 and 22. I hope to actually gather enough interest throughout the community to all road trip together to see it.

Fact Box

The crowd-sourced question is:?If you could have an interview with God, what would you ask??

The movie is, "An Interview with God," starring Brenton Thwaites (Pirates of the Caribbean) and Hill Harper among others, including David Straitharn as a man who claims to be God as the evidence mounts that he just might be). Here's the trailer:

The crowd-sourced question is: If you could have an interview with God, what would you ask?

We will gather up all the responses and make the pictures look really great in the paper and on social media. If you have an answer to the question of faith and God that's longer than a whiteboard, we are considering also a video and/or podcast and would love to talk to you further.

Call me at the office 712-362-2622 (but I'm often not here) or on my cell phone 712-330-2593 or email me or get me on Facebook or Instagram at E'ville Amy.

We're trying to mix things up and have a little more fun already at the Estherville News. We are getting our fill of hard news to dig through so we can report the essence of it, and for balance, we need our readers' and subscribers' help to make it fun.
