Iowa Lakes Softball player, Leilani San Pedro, signed to continue her athletic and academic careers at NAIA Southeastern University in Lakeland, Fla. San Pedro will be studying Psychology in the hopes of becoming a Child Psychologist in the future.

"Leilani will be greatly missed here at Iowa Lakes next year," said Iowa Lakes coach Katie Larson. "On the field, she is an amazing athlete with a go getter mentality. She steps into the box with the confidence of a winner and covers ground in the outfield. Off the field, the growth this young lady has made is inspiring. She has become a leader, mentor, and role-model. She is truly the epitome of a Laker softball player."

San Pedro graduated from Redlands East Valley High School in Redlands, Calif. She was a three-year outfield starter for the Wildcats. In her senior year, Leilani posted a .432 batting average with a .482 on-base percentage. She had 32 hits, 19 runs batted in, and 19 runs scored.

"Iowa Lakes has changed my life for the better!" San Pedro said. "Without this place, I would not be in the position to choose a place like Southeastern. I chose Southeastern because I know I will be able to grow in my faith and as a softball player. I cannot wait to see where this adventure takes me!"
