Funeral services for Bonnie Amdahl, 82, of Estherville, will be held 10:30 a.m., Thursday, Aug. 17, 2017, at the United Methodist Church in Estherville with Pastor Cory Allard officiating. Interment will be at East Side Cemetery, Estherville. She departed this life on Monday, Aug. 14, 2017, at Avera Holy Family Hospital in Estherville.

Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m., Wednesday at Henry-Olson Funeral Chapel in Estherville.

Bonnie Lee (Weaver) Amdahl, the daughter of Duayne and Bernice (Howard) Weaver, was born Jan 14, 1935, in Fort Dodge. She received her education in the Estherville schools, graduating from Estherville High School.

On Sept. 9, 1956, she was united in marriage to Gilbert Amdahl in Estherville. Bonnie worked for the Estherville Schools in the hot lunch program for 22 years. For hobbies, Bonnie enjoyed crocheting, knitting, photography and playing slots.

Bonnie was an active member of the United Methodist Church helping in mission work. She was also a huge supporter of the VFW Post #3388, a lifetime member of DAV; DAR and active in Elders Outreach Programs.

Left to cherish Bonnie's memory is her husband, Gilbert Amdahl of Estherville: four sons, Daniel (Joyce) Amdahl of Plainfield, Ill., Michael (Hermelinda) Amdahl of Estherville, Timothy (Rosalee) Amdahl of Robinson, Ill., Thomas (Margie DeBosque) Amdahl of Montgomery, Ill.; 12 grandchildren: Daniel (Stephanie) Helle, Sarah (Craig) Madson, Christopher Amdahl, Michelle Amdahl, Joseph Amdahl, Chelsey Amdahl, Amber Amdahl, Katie Amdahl, Dakota Amdahl, Mikaela Acevedo, Lucus Acevedo and Jason Hall; and three great-grandchildren: Aaron Madson, Andrew Madson and Mason Amdahl.

Preceding Bonnie in death are her parents and brother, Richard.
